She’s the small town girl who hit the big time as bad girl Jen Lindley in the TV smash, Dawson’s Creek.
Since then, actress Michelle Williams has appeared in blockblusters such as Brokeback Mountain and earned a lead Academy Award nomination for Blue Valentine.
Known as an actress who loves challenging roles, Michelle has also won plaudits for her pixie-style hair. Many stylists claim she has single-handedly promoted sexy, sassy short hair which the likes of Miley Cyrus have taken to a new level.
Earlier this year, Michelle announced she was moving away from her signature look, something evident in her smouldering photographs for the new Louis Vuitton campaign.
New Look
Winter is a time when many of our guests at Combers, tell me they are wanting a new look, or colour or shape but are not quite sure what. The summer has taken its toll on their hair and in the rush up to Christmas they panic because they believe they are fast running out of time for that perfect party look.
Healthy, premium looks are very en vougue on the runways and catwalks. Global multi tonal colours are more popular than regular hilites… by regular I mean 2 colour weaves all over..everything is so much more bespoke

Of course, Hollywood A-Listers may have a whole team of stylist and make-up artists to give them that red carpet look. But at Combers, our team are just as eager to help you achieve the right style to brighten the dark winter nights.
Tip no 2 …Please book as early as possible and let us relax and re-style you without the rush.
Here are some style ideas for different hair types.
Long Hair: Stars like Rihanna have shown how versatile long hair can be. This year, she has gone from shaven on one side to a perm and even made the mullet fashionable this summer. It just proves how versatile long hair can be and how many styles one head can carry!
Short hair: No shortage of looks this year as Beyonce made clear. The former Destiny’s Child singer is sporting a blonde crop but wore extensions on stage in Rio during her sell-out Mrs Carter Show tour, giving her the best of both worlds. Whether longer at the back or side, Beyonce’s hair is never out of fashion.
Colour: Don’t just ask for ‘your usual’ colour. Talk to your stylist about blending subtle, refined hues that capture the glow of a winter’s evening. If your natural colour is very dark, a cool shade can highlight features or mellow a strong jawline. If you are lighter or have pale skin, consider multi-tones with more glow than summer glare.

British song-writer Karen Elson and her striking red perfectly complimented her paler skin. The warm, wine-red effect is ideal for the festive period while model Karlie Kloss made sandy brown a hit. Meanwhile model mum January Jones’s soft champagne colour and heavier fringe, made even a visit to the shops with two-year-old son, Xander, a stylish event.
Fashion Cat walks
This autumn’s hair shows were a delightful mix of old, new and downright surprising. In Milan, we saw two-tone pony-tails and even a return to wet-look hair. This shimmering, caught-in-a-shower look needn’t be difficult to achieve at home and looks equally smart in the office or on a night out.
Just as dazzling on the catwalk, was 1940s glamour and sophistication, styles inspired by screen sirens such as Dorothy Lamour and Vivian Leigh. Romantic, alluring, shimmering, glowing like a sweet scented Christmas candle – perfect styles for this winter.
A final tip. Remember that central heating and frosty mornings can play havoc with your hair. Ask your Combers stylist for product and treatment advice to help get you through the winter.
