Hair Professional at Combers Inside-Out

Originally working and running her own salon in Barnstaple, North Devon, Kate brings a wealth of experience, independence, and creativity to Combers Inside-Out. Having recently made the move to Taunton with her partner and investing in a new home, she carefully chose to join the Inside-Out team — a salon whose values, philosophy, and approach to guest care closely reflect her own.

Kate specialises in creating beautiful, bespoke, and wearable hair, with expertise across cutting, colouring, smoothing treatments, and men’s hairdressing. She is particularly confident working with thick, frizzy, or unruly hair, transforming it into something manageable, healthy, and effortless. Known for her excellent blow-drying skills, Kate ensures every guest leaves not only looking great, but feeling confident in maintaining their style at home.

Kate is also a talented colourist and has been on the three-day Davines Colour Education Immersion Course so is looking forward to introducing new and existing clients to Davines' fantastic range of sustainable colour services.

Her passion extends beyond the salon chair. Kate has a strong interest in hair and scalp health, alongside a commitment to more eco-conscious and mindful approaches to hairdressing. She believes in educating her guests, helping them understand how to care for and get the very best from their hair between visits.

Alongside her day-to-day work, Kate also enjoys occasion styling, including wedding hair, proms, and special event hair-ups, bringing a calm confidence and creative eye to every look.

At the heart of Kate’s work is a simple but powerful philosophy: to take responsibility, be kind, stay open to learning, and embrace the present. She believes that agring is a privilege and that stepping outside your comfort zone often leads to the most rewarding outcomes.

Outside the salon, Kate leads an active and adventurous life. She enjoys running (including half marathons), trail running, hiking, and horse riding, having previously competed. She also loves fashion, food, and travel, including time spent volunteering in Mozambique. At home, she shares life with her much-loved dog, Alf.

Calm, capable, and composed under pressure, Kate brings a positive, grounded energy to the salon that both guests and the team quickly appreciate. She looks forward to welcoming you to Combers Inside-Out and helping you achieve hair that feels as good as it looks.
