Club Star Art Team Member 2021
By Simon | 14th December 2020
Cameron will now go on to join the existing team, and Team Leader Karoliina Saunders, for a year of mentoring, education and opportunities in 2021.
The ClubStar Art Team, like all Fellowship Projects, was put on pause in March 2020 owing to the nationwide lockdown. The team will be picking up where they left in the new year.
Cameron first entered an image of his work and an application form detailing his experience, expectations and career goals. From this open application, a group of five finalists were chosen for live auditions, which took place over Zoom before a panel of judges.
The judging panel was headed by Team Leader Karoliina Saunders, joined by Adam Bryant, Ellie Bond, Simon Tuckwell and Ellenora Dean. Karoliina says: “The level of applicants this year was exceptional, and all of the finalists did a fantastic job in their online auditions – which can be a daunting way to present your work. We were really impressed by the standard of hair showcased by everyone. We can’t wait to get started again in 2021 with a full, fantastic team representing the very best in young hairdressing talent.”
Cameron comments “It’s an absolute honour to be part of the team and being part of the Fellowship hair family. Looking forward to absorbing knowledge from all the people I meet this coming year.”
Elete Mentoring programme
The ClubStar Art Team is open to any hairdresser aged 16-25, who is a member of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing. Over the course of a year, they enjoy monthly mentoring sessions with experts representing all aspects of the hairdressing industry, as well as the opportunity for stage work and a photoshoot. The 2020 team started their year assisting at London Fashion Week, and also had a session on avant-garde hair with Anne Veck and a men’s hair masterclass with Jonathan Andrew.
With a full schedule of education, opportunities, and exciting career development ahead of them for 2021, the ClubStar Art Team are set for a brilliant year – and the future of British hairdressing is in safe hands!
